YOUNGSTOWN—Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the McCauley Funeral Home for Georgetta R. Updegraff Hollis, 87, who passed away at Meridian Arms Care Facility last Friday surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of John Walter and Stella Marie Overly Brinker she was born on August 24, 1930, in Hunker, Pennsylvania and came to the Youngstown community in 1962.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hollis loved being a part of her grandchildren’s lives. She enjoyed crafts, was actively involved with her PTA and her church the former, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters: Faye (Ted) Sloan, Austintown; Georgetta Dunlap, Dunedin, Fla.; Pamela (Don) Ortz, Lebanon, Pa.; sons, Jim (Cheryl) Updegraff of Youngstown and William (Sandy) Hollis of Austintown; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother John (Kay) Brinker of Norvelt, Pa and a sister Mary Jane (William) Sillaman of United, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband James Updegraff and her second husband William “Pap” Hollis; three brothers Eugene, William and Wayne Brinker and a sister Ruby Alburn.

The family has requested that contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 4531 Belmont Avenue Unit# 9,Youngstown 44505.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11am, Saturday, prior to the service at the McCauley Funeral Home.
