AUSTINTOWN--Leonard C. Good Jr., 57, of Austintown passed away on Thursday, March 29, at Mercy Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Hospital Youngstown with his family at his side.
Mr. Good was born on May 5, 1960, a son of Leonard C. Sr. and Charlene Wilson Good and was a lifelong resident of the area.
A graduate of the Police Academy of Niles, he was employed by the U.S. Army National Guard as a Military Police Officer from 1980-89. He then served, for six years, retiring as the Chief of Police in Rogers, Ohio in 1995. He owned and operated Len’s Lawn Care until 2008 and also Thunderbolt Music serving as a DJ. He met the love of his life Deborah Manners and they were married on November 5, 1983.
He was a member of both American Legion Post 3301 and Emmanuel Community Church. Mr. Good enjoyed music, barbequing, drawing, dogs and building things. He was a fan of Jimmy Johnson who drives NASCAR #48.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife Debbie of 34 years, sons: Matthew (Brittany McMichael) of Austintown and Brandon (fiancée Anna Whalen and her children Laci Whalen and Alyssa and James Allen) of Austintown, brothers: Stephen (Susan) Good of North Carolina, James Good and sister Barb Yonnottti .
Mr. Good was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will welcome relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 3, from 6:30-9:30pm., at the McCauley Funeral Home
A private family gathering will take place on Wednesday, April 4.
