Sister Mary Ann Sebian, H.M., 88, formerly Sr. Mary Elizabeth, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria, PA.  

Born in Painesville, she graduated from Villa Maria High School in 1947 and entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation in 1948 from St. Mary Parish. She professed perpetual vows in 1953.  Sr. Mary Ann earned her BA in Music from Nazareth College, Rochester, NY and her MA in Speech Pathology from Kent State University.

Sr. Mary Ann shared her gifts and talents during her 53 years in active ministry as a dedicated music teacher, missionary, and speech pathologist. She served as a music teacher at St. Stephen, Niles, and St. Brendan and St. Edward, Youngstown.  She was a speech and language pathologist at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown.  During the 1960s she served as a missionary in Temuco, Chile where she taught English at the local university.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Pecery) Sebian, she is survived by her extended family and her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation with whom she shared her life for 69 years.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, George, Paul, Francis, Aloysius, William, Msgr. Thomas Sebian and Brother John Sebian, SJ and her sister, Mary Musgrave.  

Funeral Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 am at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria PA.  Friends may call at Villa Maria Chapel Wednesday, July 12, 3:30-7pm and Thursday, July 13, 9:00- 9:45am.  Prayer service at 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 12.
