Jean Marie Cherol

 CANFIELD – Jean Marie Cherol, 96, of Canfield passed away Friday morning, December 15, 2023 at Windsor House at Canfield with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Cherol was born in Youngstown Wednesday, November 30, 1927 and was a daughter of Edward and Margaret Mary Mahoney Welsh and was a lifelong member of the Youngstown Community.

She was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish, belonging to its choir and garden club. Mrs. Cherol was employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gorant Candy as an assembler and a homemaker in her spare time. She was a member of the VFW in Hubbard, enjoyed word searching, and had a passion for her family.

Mrs. Cherol leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Al (Chrissie) Cherol of Campbell; Cherylene (Tim) Gunia of Burghill, Ohio and Brian (Stella) Cherol of Leland, North Carolina; grandchildren, Brian, Terra (Mark) Hoskins, Rebecca, Victoria, Zack (Jessica), Brian, Heidi (Monty) George and David (Jamie); 12 great grandchildren; a great great grandson.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Cherol was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Cherol, Jr. whom she married June 12, 1948 and who passed away June 22, 1987; Mrs. Cherol is the last member of an outstanding family which includes her siblings, Patricia, Jane Louise, Arlene who was known as Eileen, Dorothy who was known as Dot, Mary Margaret, Catherine Cvengros, Coletta Davis and John Edward Welsh.

The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, December 29, 2023 in St Angela Merici Church, 397 Jackson Street, Youngstown 44506 from 10 to 10:50 am followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am celebrated by Reverend Father Thomas Kraszewski.
