BOARDMAN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Charles Borromeo Church celebrated by Father Gerald DeLucia for Bernice A. Rodgers, 94, who passed away Saturday morning at Sunrise of Poland with her daughter by her side.
Mrs. Rodgers was born August 31, 1923 in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of Naeem and Nagla Kanaan Moosally and came to the Youngstown area as a child.
Mrs. Rodgers was a presser in the family dry cleaning business which was known as Manhattan Cleaners and also was involved in the day to day operation of the business, during World War II she was a Rosie the Riveter at Truscon as a tank tread inspector, was a cook and server at Ursuline High School for many years along with the House of Valley and Roma Manor.
She was a member of the parish, a graduate of The Rayen School, instrumental in raising her younger siblings and was a wonderful cook and baker in which she was known for her scrumptious pizza and delicious rolls sharing with family and friends.
Her husband, Norman William “Bill” Rodgers whom she married February 2, 1952 passed away November 1, 2003.
Mrs. Rodgers leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Beverly A. Rodgers of Boardman; son, Norman (Anne) Rodgers of Pittsburgh; sister, Yvonne Taylor of Boardman; four grandchildren, Robert (Chelsey) Rodgers; Catherine (Travis) Urban; Elizabeth (Fiancée, Doug Strahler) Rodgers, Daniel Rodgers and nieces and nephews
Besides her husband, Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred P. and Art Moosally and a sister, Georgette Planey

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the McCauley Funeral Home and 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Church.
