GIRARD—A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin in St. Edward Church at 12 pm, on Wednesday, Dec., 19, for Linda Marie Manning, who passed away at her daughter and son-in-law’s home surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 24, 1949, a daughter of Warren and Nora McDonough Wollitz. A lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, she grew up on Youngstown’s West Side and graduated from Chaney High School in 1967.
In 1969, she began her nursing career by completing the Practical Nursing program at Choffin. From there, Linda entered the nursing school at YSU, graduating in 1973 with a RN degree. She was hired at Northside Hospital Medical Center as a critical care nurse and remained with the hospital her entire career retiring in 2012, with nearly 40 years of service.
On May 3, 1975, she was married to Michael Manning and they celebrated over 42 years of a loving life together, until his passing on Sept. 13, 2017. Linda and Michael were always present with acts kindness whenever someone was in need.
Linda was devoted to St. Jude for many years and she loved to cook for holiday family gatherings during the year. Traveling, fishing and meeting for lunch with family and friends especially with her nursing friends were strong passions in her life.
Along with being a parishioner at St. Edward Parish, Linda was a member of the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association District 3, Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses, Ohio Nurses Association, longtime member of American Nurses Association, St. George Croation Home and Bakers Local #19 of Cleveland, Ohio.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters: Meredyth (John Paul) Ray of Youngstown and Jessica (Ian) McKenna of Girard with whom she made her home; grandchildren: Madison Ray, Ian McKenna and Rhys McKenna; niece Bridget Keevey and her son, Devan Keevey; brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death her parents, husband, and a sister, Carole Keevey

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10am to 11:45am on Wednesday, Dec.19, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edward Church.
