AUSTINTOWN—A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30am, Saturday, Feb. 4, at St Patrick Church in Hubbard for Marietta Rose Perry, 91, who passed away Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth –Boardman with her daughters at her side.

Mrs. Perry was born in Youngstown on June 20, 1925, a daughter of Michael and Roma Purfey DeSantis.

She married Louis C. Perry on July 5, 1947. They were together for 67 years until his death in November 8, 2014.

Mrs. Perry worked at McKelvey’s department store in downtown Youngstown for many years as a sales clerk. She also was an associate with Carol Vechiarelli. She was a January 1944 graduate of East High School.

She was a member of the Red Hats of Austintown, Optimist Club of Austintown, The Salvation Army and Carol Vechiarelli Club. Her passion was baking and cooking and then would invite people over for dinner. The Margarita parties that Mrs. Perry hosted in the garage were legendary. She also enjoyed socializing with family and friends.

Mrs. Perry leaves to cherish her memory daughters: Gloria DeLorenzo of Boardman and Marilyn (Ron) Vernon of Austintown, grandchildren: Michael (Julie) DeLorenzo and Mark (Kherry) DeLorenzo, great grandchildren: Jason, Maria, Marissa and Morgan, brother and sister-in-law: Anthony and Harriett Perry of Hubbard, sister-in-laws: Marie DeSantis from Poland and Mother Mary Angela (Laura Bell Perry) of Washington D.C.

Beside her husband, Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her brother Peter DeSantis, son-in-law Donald DeLorenzo, brother-in-law John Perry, Jr., sisters-in law Christine and Arlene Perry, father-in-law John Perry and mother-in-law Ruby Perry.

The Perry family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff and doctors of I.C.U. unit of St. Elizabeth – Boardman and especially Lauren and Kelli.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 10am to 11:15 am prior to mass at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
