YOUNGSTOWN—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am, Monday, Sept. 10, at St Edward Church for Michael George Lowry, Jr., 34, who passed away last Wednesday at his residence.
He was born on December 28, 1983, in Youngstown a son of Michael and Annie Miller Lowry and was a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.
Michael was a Chemical Dependence Counselor Assistant with Breaking Point and New Day. He was always known as an excellent counselor who showed extreme compassion and love for those in his care. Michael was a member of AA and NA. Michael, along with his family, was a huge Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steeler fan and attended both Ursuline and Liberty High Schools.
The outdoors was a passion for Michael. He especially enjoyed building fires in his pit in the backyard during evening hours. He was an advocate for the homeless providing them with much needed items through various functions within the community. He also enjoyed volunteering at animal shelters.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, his children: Lillian Lowry, Ava Lowry and her mother Angela Hernandez, Olivia and Jackson Lowry and their mother Rachel Mangine; sister: Laura (Alex Chick) Lowry; brother: James (Molly) Lowry; nephews: James Lowry and Breen Dahman; girlfriend- Bethany Hawout and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dutch, Sally and Nancy Miller and Chuck and Jean Lowry.
The family will welcome relatives and friends from 3-6pm on Sunday, Sept. 9, at St Edward Church and from 10-10:45am prior to mass at the church on Monday.
