LIBERTY TWP. – A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Edward Church celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin for Michael Rafferty, 56, of Liberty Twp. who passed away Saturday morning at Northside Medical Center with his family by his side.
Mr. Rafferty was born August 28, 1961 in Youngstown and was a son of William and Darlene O’Hara Rafferty and was a lifelong member of the community.
He was a member of the parish, member of Knights of Columbus, Council 2935, a 1980 graduate of Liberty High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University receiving a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice.
Mr. Rafferty leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, William (Lynn) of Columbiana; Jeffrey (Tanya) of Miami, Florida and Kevin (Lisa) of Liberty Twp.; an uncle, Donald O’Hara with whom he made his home; niece, Michele Rafferty; nephew, Kristopher Rafferty both of Liberty Twp; a grandniece, Brooklyn and his beloved dog, Josey.
He was an avid YSU fan, loved his family and enjoyed tinkering with many different items especially cars.
Mr. Rafferty was preceded in death by his parents.
The family has requested that contribution may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in St. Edward Church.
