YOUNGSTOWN – Private services were Tuesday April 24th at the McCauley Funeral Home for Nicolasa Gomez, 86, who passed away Friday evening at her residence.
Mrs. Gomez was born May 11, 1931 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and was a daughter of Primitivo and Lina del Valle Rodriguez and came to the United States and the area in 1955.
Mrs. Gomez was a member of St. Rose de Lima Church, a wonderful cook who was known for her fried chicken and beans and rice, loved listening to music and was an avid fan of Tom Jones, loved flowers and gardening and the love of her family was of the utmost importance.
Mrs. Gomez leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Luis (Kim) Gomez; Antonio (Renee) Gomez; and Epifanio “Al” Gomez with whom she made her home; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Pagan, grandson, Epifanio Gomez, Jr. and a granddaughter, Lea Gomez.
