A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Church celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin for Patsy J. Ross, 87, who passed away Saturday afternoon at his residence with his family by his side.

Mr. Ross was born May 20, 1929 in Youngstown and was a son of Peter and Angeline Zarlenga Ross and was a lifelong member of the community.

He was employed by General Fireproofing as a Die Setter and an Operator for over 43 years until the plant closed in 1990.

Mr. Ross was a member of the parish, Knights of Columbus Council # 274 and was a 4th Degree Knight and also an officer with council # 274, member of Sons of Italy Youngstown Lodge 858, Carovillesi Society of Campbell, enjoyed gardening, was a 1947 graduate of East High School, was a veteran with the United States Army serving with the Military Police and was a bus driver for the Liberty Local Schools.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 65 years, the former Helen Hunter whom he married Sept. 1, 1951; son, Ronald (Lisa) Ross of Hubbard; daughter, Sandy (Ray) Vlock of Girard; sister, Mary Beth Ross of Akron; brother, Eugene (Sandy) Ross of New Middletown; grandchildren, Ryan (Joy) Ross; Megan (Steve) Engster; Rawnie Ross and Dana Rae Vlock; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Eleanor, Addison and Cameron.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Edward Church and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday also at St. Edward Church.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bhargava Ravi, Mercy Health and Comfort Keepers for their compassionate care and concern that was extended their husband and father.
