YOUNGSTOWN- A private family celebration will be at a later date for Alice I. Gray, 81, of Youngstown who passed away Thursday morning at Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Gray was born March 28, 1933 in Youngstown and was a daughter of George M. and Catherine Irene Dugan Cannon and was a lifelong member of the community.
Mrs. Gray was a homemaker and once her children were grown she worked at Fussy Gussy Dry Cleaners on Belmont Avenue for approximately five years.
She was a former member of St. Edward Church, was a room mother at the school and also a member of the Parent Teachers Association. Mrs. Gray was the summer program director of the Community Chest at Churchill Park, was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, a graduate of Ursuline High School, attended Youngstown College and her family was the utmost importance.
Mrs. Gray leaves to cherish her memory her children; Christine (John) Fleming, Jr. with whom she made her home; Patrick (Mary) Gray of Adrian, Michigan; Machele Maus of Pittsburgh; and Celeste (Andy) Frankle of Canfield; grandchildren, Nicholas Joseph (girlfriend, Dr. Stephanie Heller) Maus; Dr. Stephanie (Kevin) Ruddy; Mallary Maus; Bryan Gray; Nicholas (Abby) Frankle; Robert (Carmen) Frankle; Jason (Robyn) Frankle; David Frankle and John Fleming III; great grandchildren Riley Frankle and Benjamin Frankle
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert C. Gray whom she married Jan. 27, 1957 and who passed away Oct. 22, 2005; a sister, Wilma Healey and her husband, William; and a grandson, Tyler Fleming.
The family wishes to thank Kim, Hospice nurse, Barb and Diane, Hospice aids and Barb from Comfort Keepers for their wonderful care and attention that they gave to their mother.
