BERLIN CENTER – Barbara S. James, 58, of Berlin Center, passed away at her home in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 27, 2025, with her loving husband at her side.
Barbara was born 1967, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a daughter of Raymond and Sarah Bright Stubna and came to this area in 1991.
She was a graduate of South Fayette High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Grove City College and a homemaker.
Barbara was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Boardman, the treasurer of the Women in Church, and gave her time and talents as a dedicated volunteer.
Barbara enjoyed bird watching, doing all kinds of crafts, and was a member of the Akron Button Club and the Ohio State Button Society.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, David whom she married in 1990, her mother, Sarah of Butler, Pennsylvania; sons, Christopher (Gina) of Pittsburgh; Joshua (Jessica) of Warren; Joel of Berlin Center; and a sister, Elizabeth (Isaiah) Stevenson of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father.
The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 471 Mathews Road, Boardman, Ohio 44512 from 2 to 4 pm with a Memorial Service to immediately follow with Pastor Mark Bell.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers please contribute to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church and/or Akron Area Button Club, 3340 Burbank Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691-9007 in memory of Barbara.
