MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church in Austintown for David Kevin Sokol, 64, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday afternoon April 6th at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, California.
David was born Feb. 26, 1952 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph P. and Elizabeth P. McDonald Sokol and moved to California in 1984 for employment.
Since moving to California he was employed by Northrup Grumman as a senior electrical engineer tech presently working at the San Diego plant. David was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Youngstown State University receiving his degree in electrical engineering. He enjoyed playing pool, the guitar and travel.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sisters, Cecelia Parise of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Elizabeth (Paul) Mistovich of Poland; brothers, Joseph (Sandra) Sokol and William Brian (Cheryl) Sokol all of Austintown; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Kathy Sokol Inigarida of Murrieta, California.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother in law, Ronald Parise.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the McCauley Funeral Home and please meet the family by 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church.
