YOUNGSTOWN - Elizabeth (nee Taaffe) Tinkler, 92, died peacefully on July 21, 2025, at her home in the presence of her family.
Elizabeth was born on October 9, 1932, in Youngstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of John P. Taaffe and Rose McGrail Taaffe.
Elizabeth was a proud 1950 graduate of Ursuline High School where she was involved with Honors English and was a Captain of the Majorettes. She was an avid football fan and a lover of animals, particularly cats.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Louise (John) Deraway, Jude (John) Fry, Kathleen Tinkler, and Patricia (Mitch Lynch) Tinkler; and her sons Thomas (Angela) Tinkler, Timothy (Denise) Tinkler, Dennis (Lisa) Tinkler, Matthew Tinkler, Martin (Cheryl) Tinkler, and Edward (Kara) Tinkler. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and her beloved cat Big Boy.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Daniel and Christopher, her sister Mary Theresa Forrest, and the father of her children, Thomas F. Tinkler.
The family would like to thank Dr. Reema Taneja and Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care during this time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Reverend Monsignor Robert Siffrin, Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward Church.
