LIBERTY TOWNSHIP—A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin, will be  Monday, June 8 at 6pm in St. Edward Church for Ervin G. Sanders, 86, who passed away early Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Sanders was born on March 24, 1929, a son of George and Mary Jane Novak Sanders in Youngstown.
He was a 1947 graduate of Ursuline High School. Upon graduation, he became a journeyman electrician and was a proud 60 year member of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).
Mr. Sanders was a member of the Naval Reserve from Akron and a parishioner of St. Edward Church where he served as a lector. He was a reader for the Society for The Blind and taught CCD at St. Rose Church in Girard for 10 years. He was a proud member of American MENSA, Youngstown Power Squadron and with his wife, the CANA Conference of the Youngstown Diocese. He was an amateur photographer, a teller of bad jokes, and a lover of crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Catherine Witt, whom he married on June 14, 1952; their eight children: David Sanders of Concord, N.H.; Alva May Kemble of Howland; Matthew J. (Linda) Sanders of Madison, Wis.; Martha Sanders of Columbus, Ohio; Laura Sanders (Shel Bannister)of Chicago; Greg Sanders (Lisa Nespeca) of Chicago; Theresa Sanders of Washington, D.C. and Jeff Sanders of Chicago;  10 grandchildren; Brian, Michael (Megan) and Jeffrey Sanders; Timothy, Emily, Christopher (Hailey Davis) and Eric Kemble; Kevin Inks;  Dominic and Orlando Sanders and one great-grandson  Connor Davis Kemble; a sister Janet Sanders (Len) Ganchar of Canfield and brother Gerald (Nancy) Sanders from Russellville, Ohio.
Preceding Mr. Sanders in death along with his parents was a sister, Bernadette Wilson.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5:45 pm Monday at St. Edward Church, Monday, June 8.
The family has requested that contributions be made to: Radio Reading Service for the Blind, 2747 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, 44505-1864 and Mill Creek Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown, 44509.
