YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be Noon on Thursday at Rodef Sholom Cemetery Chapel for Florence Loretta Scheinberg, 87, formerly of S. Yorkshire Boulevard in Austintown, who passed away Monday evening at Heritage Manor Jewish Home for the Aged.
Mr. Scheinberg was born March 29, 1927 in Kinsman, Ohio and was a daughter of Walter and Anna Ballock Yozwiak and coming to this community at an early age.
Mrs. Scheinberg, along with her husband was the owner and operator of J & D United Family Foods and L & S Market which both were located on Belmont Avenue for over forty years and as a family run business employing many nieces and nephews because her family was so important to her.
She was a member of Congregation Rodef Sholom, its Sisterhood, member of the Youngstown Area Grocers Association, enjoyed flea markets and collecting antiques and dolls and traveled to New York for buying trips and going to the theatre. She was a 1944 graduate of Chaney High School.
Mrs. Scheinberg is survived by daughter, Marilyn Freeman of South Euclid; son, Stephen (Judith) Scheinberg of Beachwood; brother, James Yozwiak of Youngstown; granddaughters, Natalie, Michelle and Amanda; great grandchildren, Jillian, Drew, Madison, Zachary and Quinn.
Mrs. Scheinberg was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert Scheinberg, whom she married in 1952 and who passed away July 10, 1974; brothers, Alfred, Chester, Ray, Leo, Edge and Dr. Bernard Yozwiak.
