AUSTINTOWN – George B. Russ, 82, of Austintown passed away Saturday morning, April 20, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown.

Mr. Russ was born Sunday, June 1, 1941 in Altoona, PA and was a son of Paul and Dorothy Russ and returned to Youngstown the second time in 2016.

Mr. Russ was a member of Austintown Baptist Church and worked for Bureau of Motor Vehicles retiring in 2016.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife the former Linda Crawford, whom he married February 27, 1999; twin brother, John (Patricia) Russ of Mt Union, PA; numerous stepchildren and step grandchildren.

He was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1962 till 1966 when he was honorably discharged.

Besides his parents, Mr. Russ was preceded in death by his four siblings.

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Austintown Baptist Church, 1180 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown 44515 from 2 pm to 3 pm with a service to follow immediately by Pastor Reverend Charles Homa.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions to his wife.
