Helen Angeline (Papini) Collins

December 10, 1936 - January 24, 2024

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, February 17th for Helen Angeline (Papini) Collins, 87, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2205 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, Ohio 44420, who passed away in the home of Kevin and Corina Collins in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Mrs. Collins was born in South Heights, Pennsylvania on December 10, 1936 to Amilcare and Louise (Macciomei) Papini, first generation Italians.

She was a 1956 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Following her graduation she worked at Southside Hospital in Youngstown as an x-ray technician. She married Eugene Collins and shared her life with him for over 56 Years. She worked for Boardman Schools, retiring in 1997 just in time to start enjoying her first grandchild. After retirement she was a volunteer at Easter Seals Alzheimer's Association for many years, working in the adult daycare center. Mrs. Collins was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she provided service to her local congregation and community.

In her leisure, Mrs. Collins enjoyed sightseeing, listening to Italian music, canning various jellies, and crocheting. She also enjoyed bowling and belonged to several bowling leagues over the years. Mrs. Collins loved being with family and friends, attending weddings, and dancing at the receptions. She was generous and kind, and her family was of the greatest importance to her.

She leaves to cherish her memory son Kevin (Corina) Collins of Austin, Texas; daughter Kathy (Curtiss) Lipp of  North Jackson, Ohio; and grandchildren Rachel, Daniel (Adison), Sarah (Mitch), Gavin, Liam, Hannah, Alex, and Leo.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Collins, and her brother, John Papini.
