GIRARD – A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Church conducted by Monsignor John Zuraw, for Joseph J. Marino, 89, who passed away Friday evening at Concord Care Center of Hartford.
Mr. Marino was born July 22, 1924 in Youngstown and was a son of Frank and Caroline Brine Marino and was a lifelong member of the area.
. He was an assembler for many years at United Engineering, an Army Veteran of World War II, member of the church, Knights of Columbus Council 2935 serving as a 3rd Degree, a 1943 graduate of Girard High School, liked to fish and enjoyed baseball and football cheering on his favorite teams the Boston Red Sox and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Mr. Marino is survived by his wife of over 62 years, the former Rosemarie Cappuzzello, whom he married Sept. 15, 1951; daughter, Marie (Andrew) Mariani of Fowler; son, Frank (Stacy) Marino of Tarpon Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Amber (Steven) Kochemba, Mark (Lisa) Mariani, Joey Marino and Donnie Marino; great grandchildren, Andrew Mariani, Austin Mariani and Jane Kochemba.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane A. Marino.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the McCauley Funeral Home and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
