Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Julianne Camuso, 71, of Austintown, passed away the morning of Friday, January 24, 2025 with her loving family by her side.

Julie was born on August 11, 1953 to John J. and Carmella "Dolly" Fascetti Maslach in Youngstown, Ohio.

A long-time resident of Austintown, Julie attended Fitch High School where she graduated in 1971.  As a student at Fitch High School, Julie participated in multiple clubs and played the bassoon as a member of the marching band.  While she cherished the friendships and fond memories made during high school, it was at Fitch where she met her husband of 50 years, George Camuso, whom she married on October 14, 1972.

After graduation, Julie and George remained in Austintown where they raised their two children.  Julie was an active member of the community playing roles in numerous community and school organizations along with being a long-time member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church.  In 1990, Julie and George co-founded Camuso Concrete Construction, Inc. where Julie managed the day-to-day office responsibilities for 28 years until her retirement in 2018.

Those that knew Julie will recall how much she enjoyed being around people.  Whether hosting family holidays and gatherings in her home, out having lunch with the girls or at a ballgame for one of her grandchildren, she always enjoyed the time with those around her.  Her home was a warm and inviting place for any visitor and always decorated for a particular holiday, with Christmas being her favorite! Despite her busy days, Julie enjoyed reading and could often be found in her favorite chair reading The Vindicator or the latest novels by John Grisham or Danielle Steel.

As a devoted wife and mother, Julie was the strength and glue that held her family together.  Known for being humble and reserved, Julie was known to be a good listener while offering warm and positive thoughts to every conversation.

Above all else and what brought Julie the greatest joy, was being a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren!  Whether it be a full day of babysitting, spending a couple hours in a gymnasium or just a quick visit, Julie cherished every moment spent as a grandmother!  Her grandchildren loved her very much and asked to spend time with her whenever possible!

Julie leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Anthony Camuso of Canfield and Annie (Anthony) Malloy of Austintown; her sister, Joanne (Tim) Minster of Marietta, GA; her brother John (Cheryl) Maslach of Austintown; her grandchildren, Georgie Camuso, Eva Rose Camuso, Alexandra Malloy, Anthony Malloy and Austin Malloy; and many loving cousins, godchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Camuso and her parents, John & Carmella Maslach.
