YOUNGSTOWN – Marcella L. McGuire, 83, of Youngstown passed away Wednesday evening, July 12, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. McGuire was born Friday, March 15, 1940 in Youngstown and was a daughter of Medro and Marguerite Kennett White and was a lifelong member of the Youngstown community.

Mrs. McGuire worked for the Campfire YMCA as an administrative assistant and retired from the Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency after many years.

She was a member of St. Edward Parish, enjoyed going to the Casino, her family was of the utmost importance as why she always loved birthday parties. Mrs. McGuire was a 1958 graduate of The Rayen School and cheered endlessly for Notre Dame.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Maureen McGuire, and Molly McGuire with whom she made her home; Sean McGuire of San Antonio, Texas and David (Beth) McGuire, Jr. of Austintown; and her bonus son David Sweeney of Youngstown; siblings, Jim White of Youngstown; Cathy  (Maribeth Trickett) White of Youngstown and Jerry White of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Richard Marshall; Corey McGuire; Erin ( Vinny Palozzo) McGuire; Katie (Brittany Harris) McGuire; great grandchildren, Brianna, Madison, Morgan, Joseph and Phoenix and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mrs. McGuire was preceeded in death by her husband, David P. McGuire, Sr. whom she married February 27, 1965 and who passed away September 20, 1994; sister, Ellen Newell and a brother, Chuck White.

The McGuire family will receive relatives and friends Monday, July 17, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:45 am in St. Edward Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin.
