BOARDMAN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday at St. Columba Cathedral for Margaret (Peggy) Lozano, 65, of Boardman who passed away Friday morning at University Hospital of Cleveland with her family by her side.
Mrs. Lozano was born Sept 29, 1948 in Youngstown and was a daughter of William and Sophie Smolko O'Neil and was a lifelong member of the community.
She was employed by the Board of Elections as a Democratic Poll Worker clerk for more than 20 years, a precinct committee person, was a charter and founding member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Golden Rose, Queen of Ireland, Division 6, was the 1992 Irish Woman of the Year, a trustee of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee for 20 plus years, member of the JFK Democratic Women's Club, member of the Federated Democratic Women of Ohio, holding various offices in all clubs and was a 1967 graduate of Ursuline High School.
Mrs. Lozano leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Dennis L. Lozano whom she married Sept. 19, 1970; children, Amy (Jerry) May, Bryan Lozano, Stacey Lozano, Katie (Sean) Lozano-Stonkus and Colleen Lozano; sister, Patricia (Tom) Chuey; grandchildren, Brody, Delaney and Liam May and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry O'Neil; sisters, Loretta O'Neil and Lorene O'Neil.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McCauley Funeral Home and from 9 to 9:45a.m.Tuesday at the Cathedral.
The Ladies AOH will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
