FUQUAY VARINA, NC – Mary Elizabeth Gardner, 74, formerly of Boardman, passed away in the evening of Feb. 3, 2021 at home with her son in North Carolina.

Mrs. Gardner was born in Sewickley, Pa on April 25, 1946 and was a daughter of Edward Bernard and Elizabeth Eleanor Sigmund Fickers.

Mrs. Gardner was a beautician for many years, a homemaker and a 1964 graduate of Ursuline High School.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Jay Todd Gardner and wife Michelle of Boardman; Timothy James Gardner of Boardman; Stephen Michael Gardner and his wife Kimberly of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; sister, Carol Sammarco of Boardman and Patricia Atkash of Florida; brothers, Paul Fickers of Akron and Ed Fickers of Oaklawn, IL; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Besides her parents Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Gardner of over 54 years.

A Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Saturday April 10, 2020 at the McCauley Funeral Home where family and friends may call from 10:30 am until time of service!
