YOUNGSTOWN –A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. in St. Christine Church, for Mary Ellen Panning, 95, who passed away Thursday morning at her residence with her children by her side.
Mrs. Panning was born Dec. 13, 1920 in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania and a daughter of John Frederick and Nora Loretta Kelly Hollabaugh and came to this area at an early age.
She was a member of St. Christine Parish, enjoyed playing bingo and was a wonderful baker and enjoyed baking cakes for her family.
Mrs. Panning leaves to cherish her memory, children, Patricia Kunovich of Youngstown; John M. (Gloria) Panning of King George, Virginia and Loretta (Tom Turney) Panning of Youngstown with whom she made her home; grandchildren, Paula (Dave) Baco; Brian (Michelle) Benedict; Louie (Brooke Turney) Kunovich; Kathleen (Dave) Molina and Jason Turner; great grandchildren, David, Danny, Katie, Martin, Kayla and Andrew;
Besides her husband, Martin R. Panning whom she married Dec. 31, 1941 and who passed away Aug. 16, 2002 Mrs. Panning was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James and John Hollabaugh; sisters, Eleanor Diego and Dorothy Valingo.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the McCauley Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Monday at St. Christine Church.
The family has requested that contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
