BOARDMAN – Mary Grace (Murphy) Dougherty departed this life Tuesday May 6, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus surrounded by her family.  Mary Grace was born in Youngstown, Ohio. A daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Grace Murray Murphy, she attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from South High School.
She married the love of her life, Eugene (Gene) Dougherty and had four daughters.  She loved celebrating every day of her life with family and friends.  Loving children were her passion.  She relished being a stay at home mom.  She was an acrobatic dancer which kept her in shape her entire life.  She will be remembered for her famous pies and tarts.  In later years her and Gene traveled the US and decided to retire in Phoenix, Arizona.  After his death she decided to return to Boardman to enjoy her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to mourn her passing but rejoice in her peace her children, Patricia Macfadden of Los Angeles, CA; Sally Landis of Boardman and Colleen Heck of Boardman; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Macfadden, Lucas Macfadden, Keith (Amanda) Colclough, Kevin (Stephanie0 Dougherty, Tierney (Jonathon) Dorma, Ashley (JohnFiore) Heck, Thomas (Michelle) Heck, Sean (Robert Ketcheson0 Landis Maura (Timothy) Batton and Dana Landis. Seven great grandchildren: Jayden and Gianna Grace Dorma, Brianna and Tony Heck, Bryan, Lance and Olivia Batton; a brother Patrick Leo Murphy of Boardman and a sister Jean Rodgers of Austintown. She leaves many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Vaughn, two brothers Paul and Edward Murphy and her daughter Marilyn Dougherty Colclough.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 9 from 9-10:15 am at St. Patrick Church on Oakhill in Youngstown. Mass will follow at 10:30 celebrated by Father Ed Noga and burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
A special thanks to Doug Cornwell who was a wonderful friend to our "Grace."
The family would like to thank Dr. Ravinder Nath and staff for the love and compassionate care given to our mother throughout the years.
