Nancy Brockett Tod, devoted wife of the late Fred Tod, Jr., died on January 19, 2016 in Youngstown, Ohio, at age 97.
She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on August 14, 1918, the daughter of Lawrence Benjamin Brockett and Dorothy Decker Brockett. Two years later, the Brocketts moved to Youngstown, Ohio.
Nancy attended Harding School and graduated Valedictorian from The Rayen School in 1936. She graduated from Bradford Junior College in Bradford, Massachusetts, in 1938. After College, she worked briefly at the Packard Youngstown Motor Company, owned by her father. She married the late Fred Tod, Jr. on December 28, 1940.
She was an active member of the Planned Parenthood Association, the Junior League of Youngstown, the Women's Board of the former Youngstown Hospital Association and the Garden Club of Youngstown where contributions may be sent to 99 Fairway Drive, Youngstown, Ohio 44505
She was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Youngstown where she served on the Altar Guild. She was also actively involved with The Chapel at Ocean Reef Club at Key Largo. Florida.
Mrs. Tod was a member of the Youngstown Country Club, The Youngstown Club, and the Rolling Rock Club, Ligonier, Pennsylvania. She and her husband spent their winters in Florida where they were members of the Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo Angler's Club and Card Sound Golf Club.
She was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed boating, fishing, family genealogy, and playing bridge. She loved fresh flowers on the table, photographing family events and she maintained a daily diary throughout her life. She and her husband were avid travelers and played golf throughout the world.
Mrs. Tod is survived by her three daughters, Dorothy Tod of Warren, Vermont; Nancy (Thom) McFadden of Woodland Hills, California; and Sallie (Paul) Dutton of Youngstown, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Kathleen (Joel) Beck, Benjamin (Ellen) Cheney, Jessica (Matt) Sheehan, Andrew (Sarah) Koff, James Tod McFadden, Tyler (May) McFadden, Will McFadden, Erika (Jason) Turner, and Emily Brockett Carlson, and great granddaughters, Abigail Beck, Lucy Beck, Lottie Tod Turner, Aiden Sheehan, Suzanna Koff, Hazel Koff, and Jace McFadden. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marguerite Tod Koff, and a brother, Lawrence Benjamin Brockett, Jr.

There will be a memorial service at 11 am on Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. John's Episcopal Church, preceded by calling hours one hour before the service
Mrs. Tod will be interred in the Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Garden Club of Youngstown.
