IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia A.
(Hartwig) Resatar
June 3, 1955 – November 24, 2024
HUBBARD – Patricia A. Resatar, 69, of Hubbard, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at her home with her loving and devoted children at her side.
She was born Friday, June 3, 1955 in Youngstown, the first daughter of Warren "Babe" and Patricia A. (Joyce) Hartwig and was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.
Along with her seven siblings, Patty proudly grew up on the Northside, where she attended St. Edward Elementary and Junior High School. She was a 1973 graduate of Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University.
After high school, Patty was employed by Santisi's Sparkle Markets, where she enjoyed floating between various stores working in the deli departments. It was in one of these stores where Patty met a young butcher named George E. "Jerry" Resatar, whom she married on March 26, 1977. Together, Patty and Jerry opened Jerry's Butcher Shop on Belmont Avenue in Liberty in 1982 and worked tirelessly to provide fresh, custom cuts of meat and grocery services to their customers for six years. After closing the butcher shop, Patty began working for Great Garage Doors, where she managed the office for over 30 years before retiring in 2020.
Patty was a lifelong member of St. Edward Parish. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, participating in the Monday Night Late Ladies League at Bell Wick Bowl for many years. Patty also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word games and watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Blue Bloods. Another one of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are Patty's children, Cathi (Chuck) Christopher of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and Matthew Resatar of Columbus; her siblings, Bob Hartwig, Bill Hartwig and Sue (Rich) Sferra; her sister-in-law, Pam Scharrer; her grandchildren, Cody (Olivia) Christopher, Tyler Christopher, Ava Christopher, and Emily Resatar; her nieces and nephews, Richard (Yolanda) Resatar, Kristin (Richard) Bowser, Brian (KerriAnn) Hartwig, Stacy (John) Best, P.J. (Katrina) Hartwig, John (Courtney) Hartwig, Jason Hartwig, Kati Hartwig, Anthony (Tori) Sferra, Audrey Sferra, and Felicia Resatar; 7 great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends she held close to her heart.
Aside from her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her brothers, Tom, John and Paul Hartwig; and her sister, Mary Hartwig.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown, 44504, Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon celebrated by the Very Reverend Monsignor Robert Siffrin.
