CORTLAND - Scott Julian, 47, of Cortland passed away Monday, December 4, 2023.

Scott was born Tuesday, November 16, 1976 in Goldsboro, NC and was the son of Youngstown natives Vincent and Mary Louise. Shortly after his birth, the family returned to Youngstown where Scott was raised and established long-term roots in this city he loved.

He was a 1995 graduate of Liberty High School, received a Bachelor's from Youngstown State University in 2000, and earned a Master's of Military Operational Art and Science in 2015.

Scott is a member of the United States Air Force stationed at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, achieving rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was the commander of the 910th Force Support Squadron and also served as a Board Member of the Red Cross.

Scott leaves to cherish his memory his children, Fionn and Ellie both of Cortland and their mother Rachel; his father Vincent of Youngstown; siblings, Vincent of Aurora, Ohio; Carmen (Monika) of Durango, Colorado; John (Dan) of Orlando, Florida; Anne (Varun) Kerof of Austin, Texas; Joey of Liberty; Patricia of Louise; Celeste of Youngstown and Thomas (Molly) of Austintown.

Besides his mother, Mary Louise, Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carmen and Patricia Naughton Naples and his paternal grandfather, Joe Julian.

The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, December 10, 2023 in St. Edward Church from 2-5pm and on Monday, December 11, 2023 also in St. Edward Church from 11-11:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon celebrated by Reverend Monsignor Robert Siffrin.
