Sister Genevieve Burke, H.M., (formerly Sr. Eucharia), 91, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015 at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria, Pa.  Born in Niles, she entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1943.  She served as a teacher of the primary grades for forty years in Akron, Ashtabula, Canton, Massillon, Niles, Painesville and Pittsburgh.  She was church coordinator for 18 years at St. Barbara in Massillon.  Sr. Genevieve returned to Villa Maria Community Center in Villa Maria, PA in 2009 where she joined her sisters in the ministry of prayer until her death.

The daughter of the late Frank Burke and Mary [nee Kochis] Burke Schrecengost, she is survived by her brother Frank Burke and her nieces and nephews and their families and by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary with whom she shared 72 years of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William and Carl Burke.

Funeral Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 3 PM at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria PA. Friends may call at Villa Maria Chapel Monday, Dec. 28, 3:30 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM and Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1-2:30 PM. Prayer service at 7:00 PM Monday, Dec. 28.
