Sister Mildred Ruffing, H.M., formerly Sr. M. Jacinta, 90, died September 11, 2022 at Assumption Village, North Lima. Originally from Norwalk, she graduated from St. Paul High School in 1950 and entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1951 from St. Paul Parish. She professed her perpetual vows in 1956.

An avid gardener she planted seeds that took root in her various assignments during her 64 years of active ministry including St. Luke, Boardman; St. Robert Bellarmine, Cortland; St. Stephen, Niles; St. Paul, Salem; and St. Edward Elementary, Youngstown.

The daughter of the late Aloysius and Ann (Wise) Ruffing and sister of the late Mary Rekart, Rev. Joseph, Robert and Florence Ruffing, she is survived by her sister Dorothy Wagener and brothers Rev. Norman Ruffing and Norbert Ruffing, many loving nieces and nephews and their families, and her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation with whom she shared her life for 71 years.

Funeral Monday, Sept. 19 at 10:30 AM at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria PA.  Friends may call at Villa Maria Chapel from 9:30 – 10:15 prior to the funeral Mass. The funeral will be livestreamed.
