Sister Damian Schirmer, H.M., the former Geraldine "Gerry" Schirmer, 83, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria, Pa.  Born in Cleveland, she entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation in 1951.  She served as a chaplain at St. Joseph Health Center, Warren and St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown and was a spiritual care minister for Hospice of the Valley, Humility of Mary Health Partners, Youngstown/Warren.

A daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (nee O'Donnell) Schirmer,  and sister of  the late Anne Marie Dever and Edward Schirmer, she is survived by two sisters-in-law, Clar Schirmer of Gambrills, MD and Nancy Dever of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by seven nieces and one nephew and their families, and the Sisters of the Humility of Mary with whom she shared 64 years of her life.

Funeral Thursday, January 29 at 11AM at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria PA.  Friends may call at Villa Maria Chapel Wednesday, January 28, 3:30 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm and  Wednesday, January 29, 10 – 10:45 AM. Prayer service at 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 28.
