VILLA MARIA, PA -Sister Claire Young, H.M., 90, formerly Sr. Mary Pius, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Villa Maria Community Center. She entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1954 from St. Dominic Parish, Shaker Heights. Sr. Claire dedicated herself with great enthusiasm for 45 years in the ministry of education at the secondary and college levels in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Sr. Claire taught at Villa Maria High School, Villa Maria, PA. Originally from Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Claire (Pedrick) Young. She is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Young and eight nieces and nephews and their families and her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation with whom she shared her life for 64 years.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers Joseph and Robert Young. Funeral Tuesday, December 18 at 10:30 am at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria PA.  Friends may call at Villa Maria Chapel  Monday, December 17, 3:30-7:00 pm and Tuesday, December 18, 9:30 – 10:15 am.
