IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Martin
Manning
July 1, 1956 – August 23, 2025
AUSTINTOWN - Thomas Martin Manning, 69, of Austintown, passed away on August 23, 2025.
Tom was born on July 1, 1956, in Youngstown, to John P. and Kathleen Reagan Manning. He grew up on the North Side and attended St. Edward School. He graduated from his beloved Ursuline High School in 1974. Tom was proud of his Irish roots and his time on the North Side, where he lived for most of his life.
Tom married the love of his life, Alice (Ball) Manning on May 5, 1979. They raised three children, Patrick (Samantha) Manning of Poland, Tom (Sally) Manning of Carmel, IN, and Meaghan (Jonathan) Carroll of Marietta, PA, all on Alameda Avenue. Tom was incredibly proud of his kids and bragged about them to anyone who would listen.
Tom worked for over thirty years at Liberty Steel Products in Hubbard and Warren, where he made many friends. He was a longtime member of the Ursuline Booster Club and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Tom loved the music of John Prine and was an avid football fan, rooting tirelessly for whatever team his son Tom happened to be playing or coaching for at the time.
Tom leaves behind his siblings, Fr. J. Patrick Manning of Canton, Kathleen (Jimmy) Zidian of Boardman, Marian (Mark) Acerra of Girard, Martina (Dominic) Marzano of Struthers, Margie Bishop of Charlotte, NC, Edgar (Shirley) Manning of Chandler, AZ, and Liam Manning of Chattanooga, TN. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his dear brother Mike and sister-in-law Linda Manning, and his infant sister Colleen. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Sam, Leo, Rosie, Josephine, Max, and Dagny, of whom he thought the world.
A Mass will be held in Tom's honor on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Edward Parish in Youngstown, and preceded by calling hours at the church from 11:00 – 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's honor to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
