LIBERTY TWP. - Services will 9:30 a.m. Friday at The McCauley Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin at 10 a.m. in St. Edward Church for William T. Moore, 93, who passed away Tuesday morning at his residence with his loving family by his side
Mr. Moore who was known as "Hubba" was born June 17, 1921 in Youngstown and was a son of John and Mary Faller Moore.
He was a truck driver working for different freight lines and retired in 1981 from Halls Motor Freight. Mr. Moore was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran and a recipient of the American Theater Asiatic Pacific and the Good Conduct medals. A member of Army Navy Garrison 2460 and served as the post commander, member of VFW Post # 3307 and spending time both in Youngstown and Hallendale Beach, Florida and after retirement while in Florida he enjoyed horse and dog racing and the casino, was known for his humor and wonderful wit.
His wife, the former Kathleen Droney whom he married Jan. 25, 1947 passed away on June 24, 1988.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Judy (Michael) Thompson of Liberty Township; Susan Moore Dominic of Liberty Township and Hallendale Beach, Florida; and Kathy Walley of Liberty Township; daughter in law, Loretta Moore of Youngstown; grandchildren, Michael Thompson of Houston, TX; James Thompson of Austin, TX; Matthew Thompson of Washington D.C.; Jeremy Thompson of Chicago; Nick Walley of Phoenix, Arizona and Jason Lipinski of Columbus; and a great grandson, Waylon Thompson.
Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a son, Richard; brothers, John, Murray and Edward Moore; sisters, Helen Moore, Marion Lobinger and Elaine Barth.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256
