YOUNGSTOWN – Amber Rose Melnik, 34, of Youngstown passed away Monday afternoon, November 8, 2021, at St. Elizabeth – Main Campus surrounded by her loving family and closest friends.
Amber was born in Youngstown on May 21,1987 and was a daughter of Paul and Kelly (Meyers) Melnik and was a lifelong member of the community.
She was employed by First Step Recovery as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant and was a devoted and loving mother of three beautiful children.
Amber had a tremendous heart and dedicated her life to helping others, particularly those in recovery and continues to help others by being an organ donor.
Amber loved to laugh, she had an infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed going to comedy shows, playing machines at the casino, spending time at the beach, and Thai food. She was an amazing cook and made the best stuffed peppers and mashed potatoes. She always prioritized self-care and enjoyed massages, manicures, and pedicures.
Amber attended Prevailing Word World Outreach Center in New Castle, PA.
Amber will be missed immensely by so many. She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents; her children, Adrina Nesbitt, Austin Douglas and Alec Douglas all at home; her fiancée and life partner, Adam Douglas; sisters, Sarah Kuhns and Dawn Melnik; sister-in-law, Courtney Kuhns; three nieces and five nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; her best friend and cousin, Lara Melnik; her dear best friends, Kia Waller and Haley Griffiths; her friend and sponsor, Rose Stofko.
Amber was preceded in death by her brother, Sgt. Larry Kuhns, Jr. who died in Iraq while serving his country; grandmothers, Roszalia Danylchak Melnik and Valgene Wolfcale; her Aunt and Godmother Judi Melnik; and her Uncle Lee Meyers.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the McCauley Funeral Home, Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 12 pm to 1 pm followed immediately by a Memorial Service conducted by Pastor Jedediah Hill at 1 pm.
