YOUNGSTOWN – Carolyn Katheryn Bardash, 78, formerly of Forty Second Street in Canfield, of Youngstown passed away early Monday morning at Omni West Assisted Living.
Mrs. Bardash was born March 18, 1942 in Youngstown and was a daughter of Lawrence and Stella Serensky Bailey and was a lifelong member of the community.
Mrs. Bardash was a reading Teacher in which she taught 2 years at St. Brendan School and once she married she taught for over 35 years in the Warren City School System. Mrs. Bardash also taught Adult Basic Education at both General Motors Lordstown Plant and in Warren City.
Mrs. Bardash was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Austintown, a member of the parish Ladies Guild, took communion to the home bound, member of the Youngstown American Hungarian Club, was very artistic and enjoyed sewing and macramé, a 1960 graduate of Ursuline High School, received her Bachelor of Arts in Education and her Masters in Reading both from Youngstown State University.
She leaves to cherish her memory her very dear friend and cousin, Ethel and Joseph Kripchak of Youngstown; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bailey; nephews, Thomas Bailey and William Bailey, cousins, Kristopher Kripchak and Michael Kripchak.
Mrs. Bardash was preceded in death by her husband, John Bardash, a son, John Jr., and a brother, William ‘Butch’ Bailey.
Mrs. Bardash has requested in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Omni West Assisted Living for their kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion extended to Carolyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Austintown, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. also at the church.
