Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN – Carroll Isabel Necko, 89, of Youngstown passed away Wednesday evening Feb. 16, 2022 at Briarfield Manor with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Necko was born in Youngstown, Tuesday April 12, 1932 and was a daughter of Edward and Edna Carroll Dixon and was a lifelong member of the community.

Mrs. Necko held a variety of jobs as she worked for Republic Rubber in the office, Strouss Department Store in the billing department and Ohio Bell as a long-distance operator.

She was a member of St. Edward Parish, a 1951 graduate of Ursuline High School, loved her dogs, collected lighthouses and blue dishes.

Mrs. Necko leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 66 years, John S. Necko whom she married October 1, 1955; sons, John M. (Raquel) Necko of Long Beach, California; Jeffrey Necko of Youngstown; daughter, Carroll (John) Muska of South Amherst; grandchildren, Jenna (Nate) Portik; Grace Muska; Bekah Muska; Jackson Cruz Necko; Benjamin Cruz Necko; Kaleb Cruz Necko and Kenji Cruz Necko; great grandchildren, Lucas and Hazel.

The family will receive relatives and friends, Monday, February 21, 2022 in St. Edward Church from 10:00 am to 10:45 am followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Monsignor Robert Siffrin.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Necko was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and David McKnight.

The Necko family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Mary Beth McKnight Potts, Don and Barb McKnight Vargo and Dave and Nannette McKnight for your continuous support, love, and their involvement with the family. Also, it is important to the family to thank their wife and mother’s caretakers Mary Ann and Kathy and it is so appreciated.

The family has requested that contributions please be made to St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown, 44504.

The family and funeral home are requesting that you please wear a mask if you are able and to maintain social distancing. Thank you!
