YOUNGSTOWN – Elvera M. Deitsch, 102, of Youngstown passed away Thursday morning, February 2, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Deitsch was born Monday, December 20, 1920 in Sharon, Pennsylvania and was a daughter of Dominic and Petranelli Valentino Pasquerilla and moved to the Youngstown area upon her marriage in 1942.
She was a member of St. Edward Parish, a wonderful caretaker to her daughter Elaine and became a founding member which is now MRDD, contributed to many charitable organizations, was a phenomenal cook and baker known for her spaghetti and meatballs, and grew her fruit for her delicious pies and jellies. Mrs. Deitsch also taught ceramics and enjoyed her trips to the casinos.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Edward C. Deitsch of Youngstown; Thomas (Candace) Deitsch od Hermitage and Richard (Louise) Deitsch of Howland; her adoring 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Deitsch was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Deitsch, Sr. whom she married July 11, 1942 and who passed away May 5, 1998 after 56 years of marriage; daughter, Elaine Carol Deitsch who passed away January 30, 2021; brothers, Nicholas Pasquerilla and Joseph Pasquerilla; sisters Jay Scurpa, Anna Comninos, Antoinette Rand, and Mary Brest.
The Deitsch Family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in St. Edward Church from 10 am to 10: 50 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Reverend Father Matthew Zwilling.
