Grace Helen Gallagher

BOARDMAN – Grace Helen Gallagher, 95, of Boardman passed away Saturday morning, March 14, 2020 at Shepherd of the Valley – Boardman with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Gallagher was born June 17, 1924 in Youngstown and was a daughter of Martin and Margaret Noble Flannery and was a lifelong member of the community.

Mrs. Gallagher was a homemaker, graduate of Ursuline High School, as a devout Catholic she attended daily mass, former member of St. Dominic Church, St. Anne Church, St. Casmir Church and her family was of utmost importance. Mrs. Gallagher also sold Avon Beauty Products and was simply known to her many customers as the “Avon Lady.”

Mrs. Gallagher leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Colleen (John) Wilson of Boardman; Marlene Kostelic of Boardman; Suzanne Pochiro of Austintown; Diane (Kevin) Dailey of Poland and Elaine (Jim Clark)Gallagher of Boardman; grandchildren, James (Amber) Wilson;  Joseph Wilson; Kelly (Mike Tarr) Gallagher; Frank (JoAnn Kusjaz) Gallagher; Michelle (Chris) Obenauf; Michael Pochiro; Kevin Kostelic; Kristylynn Dailey and Kaitlynn Dailey; great grandchildren, Noah, Harper, Jacob, Colin, Marley and Mia. Mrs. Gallagher also leaves a sister, Margene (Paul) Chambers and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Francis Gallagher, whom she married September 12, 1953 in which she shared almost 63 years of marriage together passed away Sept. 10, 2016.

Besides her parents and husband Mrs. Gallagher was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Gallagher, a sister, Gloria (Robert) Crofford and son-in-law, Robert Kostelic.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robert Spratt, Shepherd of the Valley Staff and Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care and love that was extended to their mother.

A Private Memorial Mass will be schedule at a later date.
