Joseph Calcagni

MURRELLS INLET, SC - Joseph Calcagni, 63, of South Carolina, formerly of Angiline Drive in Boardman passed away October 1, 2019 at Medical University of South Carolina following a brief illness with his loving wife and family beside him.

Joe, a son of Eugene and Antonette M. Popio Calcagni, born in Youngstown born April 10, 1956 and moved to South Carolina in 2015.

Joe was a Senior District Sales Manager for Emerson/ASCO which is fluid and motion control solutions company.

He was a member of St. Luke Church, serving as head of finance, in Boardman and a member of St. Michael Church in Murrells Inlet.

Joe was a 1974 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University. He was a member of the YSU Alumni Association, and a member of the Knights of Columbus at both St. Luke’s while in Youngstown and St. Michael’s in South Carolina. Joe was a past president and a member of the Boardman Gridiron Club, and was a baseball coach at Boardman Community Baseball where he coaches his sons. He was an avid sports fan cheering for his favorite teams such as YSU, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father Gene; his loving wife of 39 years, the former Cynthia Moschella whom he married May 24, 1980; children, Deana (Stephen) Davis of Cleveland; J. Michael (Brittany) Calcagni of Canfield; and Anthony (Kelly) Calcagni of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Jean M. (Gene) Wargo of New Middletown; and the apples of his eyes his grandchildren, Eden Davis, Gino, Dominic, Brody and Brayden Calcagni and many cousins. Joe was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and especially by his good friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Antonette, a daughter, Brittany, a brother, Joseph Anthony and his in laws, Phyllis and Augustine A. Moschella

The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the McCauley Funeral Home. Services will be 9:00 a.m. Friday at the McCauley Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. in St. Luke Church.
