Kenneth Paul Edwards

BOARDMAN – Kenneth Paul Edwards, 68, of Boardman passed away Tuesday morning at his residence with his loving wife and family by his side.

Mr. Edwards was born October 5, 1950, in Youngstown and was a son of Raymond G. and Elizabeth McGuire Edwards and was a lifelong member of the community.

Mr. Edwards worked as a locomotive engineer/conductor for the P&LE, Ohio Central and N&T Railroads mostly. He also drove truck for Austintown Diary, R&J Trucking and Genaro Paving. He is a member of Greenford Christian Church, Greenford, Ohio. Mr. Edwards loved the trains and was proud to be a part of the railroad industry. But most of he loved his family, spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him joy. He was generous and loving. After retirement he spent most of his time offering piggyback rides to his grandchildren, helping to babysit them in a pinch and telling corny jokes. He was a Hubbard High School graduate.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years, the former Noreen Tyndall whom he married April 16, 1971; their children, Joseph P. Edwards of Youngstown; Cecelia (Eric) Gallagan of Berlin Center; and Michael (Jodi Yencik) Edwards of Youngstown; brothers, Raymond G. Edwards, Jr. of Youngstown: Joseph C. (Phyllis Beharry) Edwards of Youngstown; Jack (Pamela) Edwards of Sharpsville, PA; sisters, Mary Franklin of Hubbard; Phyllis Kendall of Hubbard; Nora Dougherty of Girard; Patricia (Carl) Houdyshell of Salem  and Sondra (Daniel) Hecker of Youngstown; grandchildren, Cadence, Gideon, Liam, Rion, Declan and Mary Jane

Besides his parents, Mr. Edward was preceded in death by his children, William and Karen and a sister, Darlene Schuster.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Greenford Christian Church 11767 Lisbon Road, Greenford (Salem) Ohio 44422 and the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the service at Greenford Christian Church.
