YOUNGSTOWN – Larry F. Meenachan, 71, of Youngstown passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2021 at his mother’s house with his loving mother and his family by his side.
Mr. Meenachan was born July 15, 1950 in Youngstown and was a son of William E. and Georgalene Schwarz Meenachan and was a lifelong member of the community.
He was a gifted architect working for the DeBartolo Corporation along with F.A. Pilgren Corporation and was the owner and operator of his own construction company known as L & S Construction until his retirement in 2015.
Mr. Meenachan was a Vietnam veteran U.S. Army, serving his country from 1968 until 1971 and member of the Army Reserves until 1974. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, a 1967 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. He was fan of the Cleveland Browns, loved to water and snow ski, enjoyed golf, bowling and karaoke.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Georgalene Meenachan Jacobson; children, Edward Meenachan; Michele Meenachan; Shaye (Tim) Sanchez; and Kayla Meenachan; his siblings, Colleen (Kyle) Buckner and Willian T. (girlfriend, Joan Jenkins) Meenachan; the love of his life, Goldie Strong; grandchildren, Haley Gold; Kylie Gold and Erica Meenachan; nine great grandchildren; and a special thank you for his devoted and loving caregivers, his nephew and his wife, Sean and Kasie Buckner and Wendy Strong
Mr. Meenachan was preceeded in death by his daughter, Tracy R. Meenachan, father and stepfather William Jacobson.
The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in St. Patrick Church - Youngstown from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Reverend Father Kevin Peters.
The family has requested that contribution be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 market street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
