Michael Reilley Obituary

GLOUCESTER, VIRGINIA – Michael ‘Mike’ Reilley 49, passed away suddenly on Thursday May 17, 2018 at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, VA. Michael was born in Youngstown and was a son of Joann and Charles Reilley and settled in Gloucester, VA after retiring from the US Coast Guard in 2006. 

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Charles; brothers, Sean, Patrick and Charles Jr.

Michael was a loving, kind and gentle man and  saw the good in everyone and everything.  Michael lived life with Christ at the center of it.  He adored his family and loved others with true passion.  Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy and laughter to those around him.  Michael lived a wonderful life, retiring from the U.S.  Coast Guard in 2006.  He received many accomplishments when in the service such as the U.S. Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Transportation 911 ribbon, Letters of Commendation and Good Conduct Awards.  Michael received his Bachelor of Business Administration through Averett University in 2005 and his Master’s in Education through Strayer University in 2010. 

After military retirement he worked in Instructional Systems Design. Michael was also an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church teaching Christ and his love through RCIA program.  Michael volunteered for his son Joshua’s school and enjoyed being a friend to others he worked with and served.

Michael is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 30 years, Constance “Connie” who was also from Youngstown; two sons, Dillon and Joshua; daughter, Ashley Young and her husband Brandon; his mother, Joann Reilley of Brookfield; sister, Cindy Dominic and her husband Nick of Liberty Twp.; brothers, Tim of Brookfield and Jeff and his wife Lucy of New Market, VA; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his beloved pets.

Memorial services were held at Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Dr. Yorktown, VA on May 22nd at 6 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial with full military services was held the following day on May 23rd at 5 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 315 Harris Grove Lane, Yorktown, VA 23692.
