Sister Alma Siffrin H.M.

Sister Alma Siffrin, H.M., 96, formerly Sr. Anna Rita, died Friday, December 10, 2021 at Villa Maria Community Center, Villa Maria, PA.  A 1943 graduate of Mt. Marie Academy, Canton, she entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary Congregation in 1944 from St. Joseph Parish, Massillon. She professed her perpetual vows in 1949.

Sr. Alma served in the ministry of education as a teacher and principal for 36 years in various parish schools and later ministered as a coordinator and receptionist. She was principal at St. Pius X, Warren and served her retired sisters in community as coordinator at Villa Maria Community Center. In later years she joined them in the HM Prayer Ministry and in the Ministry of Faith-filled Presence until her death. In 2019 she joyfully celebrated her 75th anniversary as a Humility of Mary sister.

The daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Zoeller) Siffrin she is survived by her sister Patricia Raymondi, her brother Paul H. Siffrin and many nieces and nephews and their families including Msgr. Robert J. Siffrin of Youngstown along with her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation with whom she shared her life for 77 years.  She was preceded in death by her brother Robert J. Siffrin and her sisters Kathryn Linehan and Rita Marks.

Funeral Friday, December 17 at 10:30am at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria PA.  Friends may call at Villa Maria Chapel Friday, December 17, 9:30-10:15am. Temperatures will be taken and masks are to be worn.
