Sister Dolores Strah, H.M., formerly Sr. Mary Christina Rose, S.N.D., 88, died
April 23, 2022 at Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake, Ohio.
Raised in Cleveland, she graduated from East High School in 1951 and entered the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1953 from St. Vitus Parish, Cleveland. In 1970 she left the Notre Dame Congregation and professed vows as a Sister of the Humility of Mary.
Sr. Dolores earned her BSE from St. John College, Cleveland and her MSE from the University of Dayton.
She taught at parish schools in Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Lorain and Stark counties. She was an administrative secretary at Villa Montessori Center in Slavic Village, Cleveland for 10 years and served as a receptionist at the HM Ministry Center in Rocky River. Sr. Dolores served in the Ministry of Prayer until her death.
The daughter of the late Anthony J. and Christine (nee Hren) Strah and sister of the late Anthony Strah, Rose Misic, Evelyn Strah and Claudia DeCoursey, she is survived by her brother Kenneth Strah and sisters Sandra Fouts, Christine Hurley, and Lynne Menuez and by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary with whom she shared 51 years of her life.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
