YOUNGSTOWN – Thomas J. Jones III, 77, of Youngstown passed away Monday morning, August 10, 2020 at Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital
Mr. Jones was born August 12, 1942 in Youngstown and was a son of Thomas J. and Clara Rochford Jones II and was a lifelong member of the community.
He was a self-employed paving contractor for many years and owned and operated several used car dealerships in the area since the 1960’s and retired in 2013.
Mr. Jones, formerly of Fifth Avenue – Liberty Township, was a loving family man, 1960 graduate or Ursuline High School and a former member of St. Edward Parish. He loved to exercise and walk, especially around beautiful Wick Park. Mr. Jones always loved the outdoors and enjoyed working around his yard.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Thomas J. (Deanna) Jones IV of Austintown; and Paul McAllister of Boardman; daughter, Sheryl (Albert) DelGreco of Canfield; brother Edward “Teddy” (Patricia) Jones of Struthers; sisters, Barbara Miller of Atlanta, Georgia and Marilyn Sinn of Akron; grandchildren, Thomas V, Alyson and Michael; great grandchildren, Alexa Rae and Alivia Rose.
Besides his wife, the former, JoAnn Elizabeth Sibiga, whom he married February 14, 1965 and who passed away September, 29, 2009. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Virginia Perkins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the McCauley Funeral Home followed by a service by Monsignor Robert Siffrin. In keeping with current practices masks must be worn if possible and social distancing will be observed.
